NHS Funding Review

Next month, NHS is to review funding in the hope to save £128 million per year. NHS reveal some of the prescriptions currently free on the NHS that are now are deemed as unnecessary and inappropriate part of the funding.  Travel vaccinations and gluten free foods are said to be apart of the cuts. A poll on the ITV news website shows that 68% of its participants believe that prescriptions should be cut from the NHS budget.

Security at Windsor Castle is being stepped up due to last Wednesdays terror attack. even though there is no specific threat to windsor Castle. The extra need for security is a means coincides to the “preventative measures” that have been put across the uk in the past 10 years.

 

Tesco to pay a £235m fine

After a series of investigations by the Serious Fraud Office and the Financial Conduct Authority. It has been declared that Tesco has agreed to the settlement after it overstated profits Tesco now has to pay all costs associated to new agreement. Tesco pleads that it is  “committed to doing everything we can to continue to restore trust in our business and brand.”

 

WhatsApp privacy protections questioned

Following last Wednesday’s terror attack, the end-to-end encryption feature apart of WhatsApp has been scrutinized. Encryption makes it harder for investigators to find out key information especially when linked to extreme crime.

 

The new 12-sided £1 coin

The new £1 coin has come into circulation today. The new coin has a new hidden security feature which makes it difficult to counterfeit. It has been declared the “most secure coin in the world” and will be replacing the existing £1 which will remain a legal tender until 15 October 2017.
